A French version of the ‘Photo Manual for fisheries enforcement: the use of cameras in fisheries operations’ has now been made available by the FISH-i Africa and West Africa Task Forces.
Vessel identity fraud is a commonly used technique for operators wanting to fish illegally. This manual is full of practical advice on how to take useful photos of fishing vessels, and provides real-life cases demonstrating the value of photos in investigations or to confirm illegal fishing activity.
